Cinematic is an effect that makes a photo look like it is part of a movie. The main part of the effect is making the front of the picture stand out by bluring the background and to be more convincing I also add the black stripes. In this tutorial I will show you how make a Cinematic Effect in four steps. |

| |
1. Making a selection |
| |
| |
Select the part of the picture that you want to stand out. I used the Magnetic Lasso Tool, which I also used in the Become a Movie Star tutorial.
When you have made the selection go to Select -> Inverse, so you will select the background. |

2. Lens Blur |
| |
| |
Go to Filter -> Lens Blur. Control the blur power with Radius. For this picture I chose a radius of 5. |

| Before and after the lens blur, note the woman in an orange dress: |

3. Crop |
| |
| |
| Now crop the image so it will look aproximately 16:9 or 22:8 (like the widescreen movie format in cinema). For that use the crop tool. |

4. Black Border |
| |
| |
Now we will add a black border to make a more stylish appearance.
Go to Image -> Canvas Size.
Choose 134 for 16:9 or 188 percent for 22:8 Height and black color for Canvas extension color. |
